The plan is to add a strainer, a filter and a one way valve to both fresh water pumps.
However the boat has other plans....
The wiring is awful
Its not using tinned copper wire.
It does use choco blocks.
And there is black tape and bare wires everywhere.
Some of the wires have been sitting in water. Although Im grateful its fresh water its still bad.
This has caused some brittle and broken wires. Especially as you move wires as you investigate the problem your actually trying to find.
There is just a pump in here and a lot of rusty choco blocks.
Im not looking for a proper fix until the full water system upgrade.
For now just replace the pump and add the strainer, filter and one way valve.
The cold water system is a bit better. The pump works but the one way valve (maybe) leaks badly.

So it all works with the upgraded pump but there is a water leak somewhere in that area. Not from the pipes I can get to but from a bit higher up.
So need to pull the fridge out and find it, but not today.
This does remind me I need to fit some bilge pumps.
Nice and dry, all working as expected but when the tank runs dry an airlock forms in the strainer.
Need to see if I have the strainer fitted the right way around.
Apart from that all good.
Strainers, filters and one way valves fitted and the new fittings do not leak. Thats a win.
The cold water strainer forms an airlock when the tank runs dry and the existing pump cant clear it.
I need to check the strainer is fitted correctly.
There is still a leak near the water tank for the hot water system.
